For this intensive, I went back through one project from a few years ago and spent weeks reconstructing it from the agreement, scopes, invoices, time data, emails, internal conversations, approvals, change records, punch list and closeout documentation.

WHY THIS PROJECT?
Large enough to expose the mechanics. Complicated enough to test the systems.
It began with an exciting opportunity and a demanding client. The scope grew steadily. The project became the highest-revenue job my firm had ever completed. The client relationship also became difficult enough that I considered ending it.
That makes it unusually useful to study because success and difficulty are sitting in the same file.

The hindsight is part of the training.
